All the spaceships of SpaceX: Mission reusable - Part 2

All the spaceships of SpaceX: Mission reusable - Part 2

Introduction

In the last blog, I told you about one of SpaceX's spacecraft and two boosters. I wanted to keep the other part suspenseful so I shifted it to this blog. Here are the other spacecraft, boosters, and satellites with their description.

Dragon 2

Now, this is a partially reusable spacecraft that has a better and more modern design than its predecessor. But design isn’t the only thing in which it surpasses Dragon 1. It, instead, is a crewed spacecraft and it will take up to 4 people to the ISS. But, again, it will need the Falcon 9 to fly it to the ISS. But the positive side is that it will no longer need a manual arm from the ISS. it will be able to dock itself. There are two versions: the Crew Dragon and the Cargo Dragon. The Crew Dragon's capacity is 4 people and the Cargo Dragon can take up to 6 tons of cargo and return 3 tons of cargo. It has parachutes that will help it land on the earth. But there is another alternative, it can also perform a manned landing with the help of its 8 DracoEngines. Now, let me tell you about the satellite that will bring us the StarLink internet soon.

StarLink

Now, this is a spacecraft that is still in its infancy. Though there are 1,469 satellites in orbit, SpaceX plans to send 42,000 in all. This can revolutionize the internet industry. Maybe wire internet will be entirely replaced by satellite internet shortly. The main thing is that it stays in Low Earth Orbit or LEO as compared to the older satellites which were much further in the geostationary orbit. This will make sure that one satellite covers a small area with a speed as high as 300 GigaBytes per second. SpaceX reports that they have over 1000 users currently. Now, it’s time to talk something big.

Falcon Heavy

Now, this is the most powerful vehicle after the SLS ever built. It can carry payloads up to 64 metric tons! It, too, is partially reusable. It was thought to make interplanetary missions with humans to the moon and Mars. but scientists plan for it to take artificial things to near-earth orbit such as satellites. The Superheavy vehicle can also take the Dragon if necessary. Its weight is 1,420,788 kg. It is divided into three parts with 2 rockets on the sides as the second and third parts. With its 27 merlin engines with 9 on each part, it can generate a thrust of almost 22.2 million N. I guess that now are ready to comprehend the power of an even greater vehicle.

Starship

This launch vehicle will be greater in size and mass than all the other vehicles of the company. It will be able to carry a weight of almost 100 metric tons! It is planned to make its first trip to mars uncrewed but with a payload in 2024. So there is a scope for achieving the dream humanity has wanted since its beginning. SpaceX is already doing a great job in achieving its dreams. Already many companies are partnering with SpaceX for the starship. Some have serious missions while others want to just send satellites. Whatsoever, SpaceX is taking us to Mars and beyond…

SpaceX has dreams to revolutionize what no human could even comprehend. From a simple launch vehicle to Mars has not been an easy journey for SpaceX. If not this quality, then also, everyone can extract at least something from the work SpaceX has done…
